TRR356 Electron Microscopy Course (08.-11.08.2023)

From August 8th till 11th, the first TRR356 Electron Microscopy took place in the laboratories of the Klingl group. The 6 participants got some hands-on experience on sample fixation, dehydration, resin infiltration and embedding and finally sectioning. This was followed by sample mounting and the respective microscopic analysis. The latter included conventional TEM (transmission electron microscopy), TEM-tomography and focused ion beam scanning electron microscopy (FIB/SEM). This data was then further analyzed and the participants were introduced into data interpretation and data segmentation for subsequent 3D model generation.
